The call for audiovisual projects of the Fiction Mallorca Pitch forum, to be held between December 13 and 15 in the municipality of Calvià, closes with more than 80 registrations, of which 50% have been women and 25% creators from the Balearic Islands.
The event organized by byandreufullana studios with the sponsorship of the Calvià City Council, the collaboration of CIFP Juniper Serra and the support of the Mallorca Turisme Foundation and the Mallorca Film Commission, will announce the selected projects later this week.
The selection will be carried out by a committee of experts that will select 6 feature film projects and 6 TV series projects to pitch in front of prominent agents of the audiovisual sector. Of the selected projects, 50% will be projects presented by women; also among those selected there will be projects from companies and/or creators from the Balearic Islands, and from other parts of the world.
– Calvià in fiction’, in which there will be an analysis of several film and television productions that have passed through the municipality of Calvià and the locations they have used. By Andreu Fullana, promoter of the event and expert in film tourism.
– Co-production and the AIEs (Economic Interest Groupings), which will discuss the paths of co-production of television fiction as a new financing model. By Alfonso Blanco, executive producer of Portocabo and member of the International Television Academy.
– The representation of space in the locative turn of fiction’, a round table aimed at screenwriters, producers and people in charge of directing audiovisual projects. Topics such as locations and the importance of narrative space, among others, will be discussed. The round table will be attended by Mar Díaz (Executive Producer of fiction series at RTVE), Pepe Coira (creator of Hierro and Rapa for Movistar+), Helher Escribano (creator and director of IBICINE) and Daniel Sampedro (Location Manager of Palma Pictures) and moderated by Maria José García Doce (expert in communication and personal branding).
The selection committee is formed by two teachers from the Image and Sound department of IES Juniper Serra, Bel Vidal and Martí Pallicer, as well as two executive producers, Amaya Izquierdo from Auna Producciones and Anabelle Mullen from Belle Films.
