The second edition will be held at the Teatre de Sa Societat on the 27th and 28th with luxury guests such as Diego San José, creator of the series “Vota a juan”- Feroz Award 2022, or the screenwriter of series for the BBC Roland Moore, among others.
The FICTION MALLORCA PITCH returns to Calvià, this year under the claim STORYTELLERS and within the framework of the inter-island project ISLANDS OF FICTION. This year the conference at Sa Societat will be a meeting for the creative development of the audiovisual from the point of view of screenwriters. Its second edition will take place on October 27th and 28th, where different creators will be in contact with professionals from the audiovisual world in a sort of “meeting of the minds”. jam session to share experiences, panels and workshops.
Among the first confirmed guests are: Diego San José (creator of Vota Juan – Feroz Award 2022), Roland Moore (screenwriter of Doctors, a BBC series), Manuel Morey (expert in public speaking and pitching), Elena Medina (screenwriter, winner of a National Television Award and an ONDAS award for 23-F: El día más difícil del Rey), Rafa Taboada (executive producer at Movistar+ until May 2021 and now at Amazon Studios) and Lorenzo Mejino of the Serializados Festival.
The FICTION MALLORCA PITCH, STORYTELLERS aims to make the conference held at the Teatre Sa Societat in the Mallorcan town of Calvià a meeting of audiovisual creation at all levels: local, national and international within the framework of the script development laboratory ISLAS DE FICCIÓN.a project created by the Consells de Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, with the support of the ICAA (Instituto de la Cinematografía y las Artes Audiovisuales del Ministerio de Cultura) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan approved by the Government of Spain and financed with Next Generation-EU European Funds.
Part of this conference is to know how national and international active fiction screenwriters work, looking for a more realistic approach, marked by their work practice and routines. The different programmed activities will be taught by professionals in each specialty with experience in the national and international sector.
In the words of the organization: “in the Balearic Islands we have great audiovisual meetings like all Festivals, but the FICTION MALLORCA PITCH, STORYTELLERS differs in being a meeting exclusively for creators and screenwriters within the framework of the inter-island residencies project called ISLAS DE FICCIÓN”.

The main objective of this event is to promote industrial meetings and through them to establish relationships of trust between local production companies and the people in charge of delegated productions of national television stations, platforms, etc. Attracting this more international public, and favoring these meetings and relationships of trust, is one of the innovative and differentiating points of the project.
Alfonso Rodríguez, Mayor of Calvià, explains that “welcoming back this meeting for the creative development of audiovisual means putting our town on the international map, with training sessions aimed especially at creators, but also to all those who may be interested. The collaboration of the departments of Culture and Tourism allows us to carry out this project that is not only a promotion from the cultural field but also from the tourist one, favoring the deseasonalization and supporting local companies”.
