Alfonso Rodríguez, Mayor of Calvià, inaugurated this afternoon the event, in which he was accompanied by the following people Andreu Fullana (executive producer and organizer of the Fiction Mallorca Pitch), Pepe Coira (Screenwriter and creator of “Hierro”, Best Drama Series at the Forqué Awards 2021), Alfonso Blanco (Executive Producer of Portocabo and the series “Hierro”), Mar Diaz (Executive Producer of TV Series at RTVE), Helher Escribano (Director of Film and Photography), Pablo Manchado (Plan by Plan), Anabelle Mullen (Belle Films) and Martí Pallicer (Professor at CIFP Juniper Serra).

Seven of the 12 projects selected, more than 58%, are led or co-led by women. More than 58% of the selected projects are by creators from Mallorca and 25% of the selected projects are by creators from Ibiza.
This first edition, sponsored by Andreu Fullana Studios, has the collaboration of the Calvià Town Hall and the support of the Fundació Mallorca Turisme and the Mallorca Film Commission.
It also has the participation of CIFP Juníper Serra, Balearic reference center in training professionals in Image and Sound (since 1988) that will provide volunteers who will participate in the production and streaming broadcasting of the event via the Internet.
In this first edition of the Fiction Mallorca Pitch, important names of the Spanish audiovisual scene, such as Pepe Coira, creator of the successful series “Hierro” or Mar Díaz, Executive Producer of RTVE Series, among others, will assess first-hand the viability of these 12 series and feature film projects – out of the more than 80 projects submitted that have made it to the final selection of the “Fiction Mallorca Pitch”.
The projects selected to be analyzed by a distinguished panel of Spanish fiction professionals in a “pitch” format are “pitch “have a strong feminine and Balearic accent and have been presented by creators from both the Balearic Islands and other latitudes.

The Mayor ended his speech by wishing both professionals and participants a good day, stating that Calvià is committed to continue in this line of professional meetings of the audiovisual sector to make the municipality a hub of audiovisual and cultural production in the villages, which can also become potential filming locations, both for the richness of its outdoor scenery and its accommodation capacity (as it has more than 60,000 tourist places).
